Blessed

Last night, around four o'clock, I woke up with my throat so swollen that I couldn't breathe. I panicked, obviously, and starting whacking Mike. He woke up immediately (that does not usually happen), grabbed some Consecrated Oil, and gave me a blessing. The swelling went down, and I could breathe again, albiet with much scary wheezing.

Basically, the moral of the story is that I am so blessed to have a husband who respects his role as the Priesthood Holder in our home and is willing to share it whenever needed. I love him SO MUCH! :D

It's Beginning to Look A Lot Like Christmas...

I have finally begun to decorate for Christmas! I am getting so excited...I got Mike's present delivered yesterday and then got him another present at the mall...I canNOT wait for him to open them!!!

Anyways, I have been wanting to feel like my apartment is Christmasey, and Mike found a pre-lit 6 ft. tree for $25.00 and surprised me by setting it up before I got home on Friday.
I am in the beginning stages of decorating, but I am getting there...I just wish I could afford to buy more cute things!!The typical wrap-your-pictures look.
This is by the TV stand on the floor...it actually looks cute there. Plus, I had no room to put it anywhere else! :)
This little setup fell on me a few times before it would stick to the wall. Sweet.
"CHRISTMAS CORNER." The lighting is a bit weird in this pic, but you can see that my tree is lovely and there are presents underneath it! The little red bag is empty...I just wanted it to look as though we have a start in the gift-wrapping department. :)

This is directly above the sink, etc. I needed to have something Christmasey in the kitchen so I could complete the cheer in the front rooms.
Obviously the frosty frame is fake, but this little getup is in the bathroom. We have this random, white rustic-ish shelf, so voila! I put Christmas in the bathroom too!
I have had a lot of fun decorating...MERRY CHRISTMAS in a month!!
So...What do you think?

Happy Thanksgiving!

For Thanksgiving this year, Mike & I went to his parents' house. We hung around the house for awhile and then everyone went bowling. It was really fun...I got a 90 the first time! Woot! Of course, Mike got at least 120 every time, but so? I can claim his talent, because we're married and therefore ONE. BAM!
This is me getting a strike. Proof that I can randomly be awesome. Anyways....

I'm thankful that Mike & I have families that are so cool. It's nice to go to either one and have fun. We're SUPER different, but that's all right. :) List of things I am grateful for:
  • My job
  • Mike's job
  • The opportunity to go to college
  • My family
  • My rockin' car :)
  • The Gospel

Happy Thanksgiving!!!

New Moon=New Love

Wednesday night I got a text from my friend, Courtney, asking if I wanted to go see New Moon. She had an extra ticket and thought I would enjoy it. After I said yes, I jumped up and down and giggled stupidly to Mike, who was probably the last person I should have been saying, "Jacob barely wears a shirt!" to. Oh well. The cat's out of the bag: Jacob is sexy.

I LOVED THE MOVIE.

*Before I continue, I ask that no one make any comments about hating it or anything negative...this is MY blog, and I am keeping ALL my joy balloons full!

I saw it with Courtney, her sis-in-law Mariah, and their friend. We went to the 9:00 p.m. showing at Thanksgiving Point, so the quality was A+. Lots of sappy girls, but I was one of them, so it's all good. :)

Anyways, it was so good! Especially when I compare it to Twilight. I am Team Edward, but Jacob was absolutely stunning and I did not mind that he was, as I mentioned before, shirtless for most of the movie. :)

Kristen Stewart's acting was a lot better, but she still isn't great. Anyways, I really loved the movie and will be purchasing it when it comes out. No, I won't wait in lines to get it...I'm not THAT obsessed! :)

Thanks for the invite, Courtney, it was a BLAST! :)

Everyone go see it!!!

Addiction

I am addicted to hot chocolate. There, I said it. My Cocoa Latte Maker is one of my most prized possessions. It is so wonderful to be able to drink it when it's cold out...I feel so Christmasey!! :D I won't tell you how much I've had in the past three days, or you'll think I'm a cow. A cow addict just brings up a whole list of unrelated topics, so let's just stick to me being a hot-choco-holic. Life is bliss. :)

Stuck in the 70s: Encore Edition

For those of you who have known me since high school, know that I was in Encore my senior year. I was in every choir, but for Encore we did our own special show: Stuck in the 70s.

The year after I graduated, Mr. Lunt had Encore do Stuck in the 50s. Since then, with moving to another school and setting up an entirely new music regiment, he had his new Encore group do basically the exact same 70s show that my group did.
On Friday, some original Encore 70s people went to see the show and talk to the cast: me, Liz Hatch, Jena Sainsbury, Brooklyn Poulter, Gillian Clark (Mohlman) and Keaton Anderson. The show was really fun and it was cool to see the choreography and remember doing the show ourselves.

It made me miss Encore SOOO much! After the show, we sang some of the songs we did in high school and let me just say...We still got it! :D Oh, and here's a picture of me being stylish and altogether stunning:

I was popular.

True Badgerines

Thursday night was UVU's True Wolverine Night. We thought that it would be a fun event, so we went over to participate.

First off, let me tell you what we were used to at Snow College. On the night of the full moon, once a month, hormone-riddled people gathered under the bell tower. At the strike of midnight, everyone grabbed someone to makeout with for a full minute under the bell tower. After that, you got a cool little ID card that said "TRUE BADGER" with a kiss in the background. You even got a T-shirt that went along with the theme of that True Badger Night.

What I'm getting at is UVU's True Wolverine Night was LAME. There were little bonfires everywhere, which was nice because it was freezing, but there was never an official "On your mark, get set, GO!" for the kissing to begin. It was a mass of confusion with hot chocolate to keep you warm.

Finally the people in a booth were like, "K, come kiss someone in front of us and get a wrist band." Mike and I did so, but were sorely disappointed that it was literally one kiss they wanted. And the wristbands? More like three-finger bands. There is NO freaking way that this little thing would fit around ANYONE'S wrist...unless perhaps it was my 1-year-old niece, Skyla.

Although the "wrist"band was discouraging, I did take a picture because that's how I roll. So there you have it. We are True Badgers and True Wolverines...True Badgerines or Wolveragers, whatever you like.
